Author’s Note
Dear Reader
,
Thank you
for choosing to invest your time, money and energy into this story. Avi, Meher, Charlie, Anu, Arjun and Shashi have become like family to me – mostly because writing them drove me half out of mind. If you enjoy this story, please do take a moment to read and review it everywhere. Tag me, I’m there on all forms of social media.
While writing this book, I also watched a kickass, empowering TV series called ‘The Bold Type’ and it showcased one of the main characters having to deal with the difficult decision of possessing the BRCA gene mutation, which could make her a breast cancer candidate in the future.
My sincere note to you, dear reader, is to read up on the BRCA gene mutation and get yourself and the women in your family, friend circle and sphere of influence checked for the mutation. Regular mammograms after the age of 25 also help. Early detection is better than any amount of treatment!
This book is about five friends who are from a small town in Tamil Nadu and small-towns in India mean they talk mostly in their native tongue – Tamil. It’s the main reason, I’ve liberally used Tamil expressions throughout the book as part of character dialog. ‘Cuz, it is how any of us speak – a mix of English and our native tongue. A glossary of terms has been provided for handy reference.
I hope you like this small glimpse into the lives and loves of Avi, Anu, Charlie, Meher, Shashi, and Arjun and enjoy it.
Be bold, be brassy, and be awesome!
Xx
