A nineteenth-century three-story house with basement on the outskirts of Paris underwent an expansive remodel bringing new life to its confined interior. As part of this remodel, the entire attic was transformed into a master suite with minimal separation between bedroom and bathroom. The timber framing of the roof is left exposed to give the space a rustic appeal contrasting with the sleek finishes and furnishings.
The design is developed around the notions of comfort and well being by means of ample spaces, a palette of neutral colors and various windows and skylights that infuse the space with an even light.
