A Final Word from Whit

Congratulations! You’ve studied ninety devotions on the fundamentals of the Christian faith—that’s quite an accomplishment! Along the way, you’ve learned about the lives of some amazing spiritual heroes like William Wilberforce, Corrie ten Boom, Rich Mullens, and Lottie Moon. And you’ve captured God’s word in your heart through some incredible Bible stories about Jesus, Elijah, Paul, Peter, Silas, and Philip.

Of course, just reading about God and what He’s done throughout history isn’t enough. We have to know God, and we do that by meditating on His Word, communicating with Him daily through prayer, and living our lives according to His example. We need to become doers of the Word and not just hearers. It’s also good to talk about the Bible with other Christians, to share what you’ve learned with friends and family, and to hear about what God is doing in their lives.

So you can see why the daily challenges of this book are so important. If you skipped over them, you should go back through the devotions and choose one or two challenges to try this week. Okay?

But most important, just because you’ve come to the end of this book doesn’t mean your job of Christian learning is over. Far from it! Every day is an adventure of learning and growing in Christ. Being His disciple is a lifelong process; it’s full of joys and struggles, study and understanding.

If you don’t have any Christian friends, pray that God will bring some into your life. And in the meantime, you can visit Odyssey and Whit’s End where there are always fun and learning going on. Connie, Eugene, Wooton and I will be waiting for you!
