What You’ll Need

Lime wedge

Coarse salt

1 cup ice cubes

½ cup silver or gold tequila (4 oz.)

¼ cup lime juice (2 oz.)

¼ cup orange liqueur (2 oz.)

How to Make It

1. Rub lime wedge around rims of two 6- to 8-oz. rocks glasses or margarita glasses. Dip rims into a dish of coarse salt to coat.

2. Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker. Combine the remaining ingredients and add to shaker; cover and shake until very cold. Strain liquid into prepared glasses filled with additional ice cubes. Serve with additional lime wedges or slices.

Frozen Margaritas: Prepare eight glasses as directed. In a blender combine one 12-oz. can frozen limeade concentrate, ⅔ cup silver or gold tequila, and ½ cup orange liqueur. Cover and blend until smooth. With blender running, add 4 cups ices cubes, 1 cup at a time, blending until mixture becomes slushy. Pour into prepared glasses. Makes 8 servings.

1. Fill your shaker with ice then add the juice and liquor. Cover and shake vigorously for a full 10 seconds.

2. For the best flavor, fresh lime juice is hard to top. A medium lime should yield 2 Tbsp. juice.

3. To coat the rim of the glass with salt, place coarse salt in a shallow dish. Rub the cut edge of a lime wedge around the glass rim to wet it, then dip the rim in the coarse salt to coat.
