Epilogue

Valentine’s Day, one year later

“I do,” Simon said.

He stood at the front of the church with his beautiful bride Veronica. Blushing a spectacular shade of pink, she’d just repeated those same two fateful words. Dressed in a blush colored, elegant, silk and lace gown, her head topped with a veil that seemed to stretch for miles, her loveliness made him tremble.

A lot had happened since last Valentine’s Day, the most important being building a life with his amazing Veronica.

He’d gotten the job of his dreams. And while Veronica’s parents had been less than supportive of their relationship, they were cordial now and had accepted him. But most of all going to sleep and waking with Veronica in his arms. Making love to her from late in the night to the first light of dawn.

The beginning and the end of all his happiness.

He didn’t look at the minister as the man pronounced him and Veronica man and wife. He focused all his attention on the love of his life. “Trust me, baby?”

“You know I do.”

“You may now kiss your bride,” the minister said.

Simon had beaten him to the punch.

A word about the author…

Doreen has wanted to be a writer her whole life but took a detour into being an opera singer and choral conductor. She realized that maybe she should spend more time writing when creating the back stories was more fun than actually singing them. Plus her romance-lovin’ heart couldn’t take all the dead bodies littering the stage at the end of the performance. She is still an active conductor and is regularly found waving her arms around in front of singers.
