A Psychic Paradox
Given Holmes’ predilection for the pseudo-supernatural, we often find ourselves encountering those who fancy themselves to have a special connection to the occult.
“I simply cannot understand why these people must carry on as though they have magical abilities,” I said, after yet another such episode. “It is as plain as day to anyone with a scientific mind that prediction of the future is impossible.”
“I wouldn’t be so hasty, Watson,” Holmes replied. “Impossible is a strong word. Why, just the other day I saw it done.”
How is it possible that Holmes saw someone predict the future?
