About The Dickie Bird Foundation
The foundation was established by Dickie in March 2004, with the aim of helping disadvantaged young people, nationwide, to participate in sport.
Its objective is:
“To assist financially disadvantaged young people under 18 years of age to participate, to the best of their ability, in the sport of their choice irrespective of their social circumstances, culture or ethnicity and to ensure that, in doing so, they improve their chances both inside and outside sport.”
It is our fervent hope that, through our efforts and the grants we make, more young people will be able to access sport and fulfill their ambitions as sportsmen whilst at the same time improving their prospects in life.
If you feel you are a young person (under 18) or somebody in your school, club, college or sports association who meets our criteria, please download an application form from our website. Every application will be given fair and equal consideration.
