Baby Bathtub
What to look for in a baby bathtub:
Sturdy sides. The tub should be made from thick, rigid material with smooth rims so it won’t scratch or spill water when you lift it.
Small is better. Miniature, body-shaped tubs are easier to manage with newborns than large, “one-size-fits-all” models. Get one that will fit into your kitchen sink.
Safety features. A gentle seat angle with crotch support and slip-resistant surfacing will help hold the baby in place.
Tight plug. A leak-resistant plug on the base makes emptying easier.
Folding feature. Tubs that fold in half for storage take up less room when not in use. Just make sure there are no seams that could pinch a baby, or gaps that could leak.
Nix bath seats. Baby bath seats with suction cups on the base have been implicated in over 123 baby deaths in the United States since 1983. The suction cups don’t hold and babies drown. Don’t buy or use one.
