Dear Reader,
I’ve lived in the world of medicine all my life but my passion for emergency medicine began with one life-changing night when I was invited to go on a “ride-along” with an ambulance crew. I couldn’t wait to start my training and become a part of that world. I loved working on the road and have friendships that will last for the rest of my life.
In recent years, I worked in the paramedicine department of a university in New Zealand, which kept me in touch with all the drama and fascination of a career where you can be faced with…well, anything at all! The highlight of my time with the department had to be the opportunity to travel to the Czech Republic to support our team who competed in an international emergency response competition.
Such an amazing experience and, from the first moment we arrived and had to find somewhere to park our ambulance among the dozens of other emergency vehicles, I knew I wanted to share it, one day, by using a version of it as a background for a story or two.
So, come with me to the Rally Rakovi where my two heroines, Kate and Georgia, will be competing to demonstrate their skills in emergency response. They will also both start their journeys to finding love, but in very different ways.
Happy reading!
With love,
Alison xx
