AUTHOR’S NOTE
I hope you have enjoyed the adventures of Rasia, Nico, and Kai. If so, please consider leaving a review on Kobo, your preferred review site, or on social media. Online reviews are critical to an indie book’s success. In addition, please share with others. Tell everyone about it. Go purchase the book in a different format. I truly appreciate any and all support. This self-publishing thing is hard, ya’ll.
ADDITIONAL NOTE
This book is meant to be read without a glossary. I have had the great fortune to live in countries other than my own, and I write to reflect those experiences. When you are a guest in someone else’s world, it is your responsibility to engage. Most often, you aren’t afforded all of the information. But every day is an opportunity to learn something new. Every day deepens your understanding. Life isn’t an infodump. It’s a journey.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Self-publishing is expensive. I pay for every word, and some persons are worth the recognition. I love you all: my way too many siblings, my mother, my stepparents, my grandparents, my friends, and my extended family: both lost and found. To Daddy, who passed last year to Covid, I hope the Cowboys win in heaven. Chill in peace.
I also want to give a special shout-out to my beta readers: Alegra Gaines, Agueda “Agatha” Lopez, Laura Montalvo, and Nohemi Romero. Thank you to the editors who wrangled my terrible grammar, Sydnee Thompson and Kristy Elam. Finally, thank you to Asur Misoa for that awesome cover illustration. I’ve had Rasia in my head for 15 years (terrifying, I know) and you have done her justice.
Thank you all so very much. I wouldn’t be here without you.
