About the Author

Oonya Kempadoo was born in England, grew up in Guyana, and chose to work and live in the Caribbean for most of her life. She has lived on the islands of Hewanorra (St. Lucia), Kairi (Trinidad), Tobago, and Camerhogne (Grenada), and now lives on Kawenote Teiontiakon (the Island of Montreal), for now. Oonya’s first big love is the blue Caribbean Sea, and when she can’t swim or float it in, she dreams of doing so.
