Closed cabinets are no excuse for being disorganized. This example shows just how much you can park behind a few cabinet doors.

1. Organizing items by color and use (so teapots and cups up top) also creates harmony and allows you to grab the whole set.

2. Adjust shelves to accommodate different items, grouping like with like—plates vs. glassware vs. deep pasta bowls.

3. Use risers and under-shelf units to double—or triple—the vertical storage, resting mugs atop plates, taller glasses over shorter ones.
