Recommended Hotels
Hong Kong has some of the most luxurious hotels in the world, with properties belonging to nearly all the major international chains. The city welcomes almost 30 million visitors a year, half of whom are from mainland China. Hotels listed below have full air-conditioning, offer 24-hour or more limited room service, and a wide range of facilities. Hong Kong hotels have excellent business services and conference facilities, and many have acclaimed restaurants.
Reservations are strongly recommended, particularly at Christmas, Chinese New Year, during major trade fairs and China’s golden week following 1 May and 1 October. If you do arrive without a reservation, the Hong Kong Hotel Association (www.hkha.org) at the airport can arrange accommodation with its members.
As a basic guide, the symbols below have been used to indicate high-season rates in Hong Kong dollars, based on double occupancy. A 10 percent service charge will be added to the bill. In Macau, there’s a 10 percent service charge and a 5 percent government tax. All Macau hotels charge high rates for Friday and Saturday night stays.
