First, last, and always… Thank you for reading.
I keep seeing posts in various writers’ and readers’ groups saying that writers shouldn’t get political in their novels.
Bollocks to that.
Everything is politics. Everything.
Governments all over the world are oppressing people for who they are, who they love, how they express themselves, where they were born, the colour of their skin, their religion … and for having the audacity to live as their authentic selves. To remain neutral is to side with the oppressor.
Anyways…
I owe a huge thank you to That Girl for lifting the metaphorical curtain to give me a sneaky little peek into what goes on behind the scenes in drag. She patiently responded to my ridiculous questions and listened to all my absurd theorising. I hope her input has lent an air of authenticity to Blue, Di, Pfeff, and Coco. If not … well, that’s on me. I swear I had the very best teacher.
As always, the WiFi Sci-Fi writers’ group has been the most amazing gift. They continually teach, push, and cheerlead me to be a better writer.
I want to thank my beta readers: Julie Golden and Stephanie Francis. They both got stuck right into the guts of my ridiculous tale and helped provide a buff and polish.
Nick and Hannah, my editors, dug into the meat of this vegetarian story to make it the best version of itself it could be. Any mistakes you find now are entirely my own fault.
Finally, my legally contracted lifemate, Dave, has been putting up with more than any human being should have to. If you’ve ever met me in real life, you’ll understand what a big deal that is. Seriously … I’m a lot. Dave has listened to me talk about my imaginary friends every single day for six years. Dave’s the best person.
