So let me tell you: don’t worry about your life.—Matthew 6:25
Brainy Tip: Worry and fear can cause neurochemical chaos in the brain and impact your mental and physical wellbeing.
We can only truly focus on one thing at a time. Multitasking is a myth; we can in theory do many things at once, but we will not do any of these things well. The same can be said of what we choose to think about. If we choose to focus on our fears and concerns, we allow them to take over our minds, shaping our future thoughts, words, and actions. And worrying almost never changes a situation!
God is bigger than any of our problems—he has got us covered! When we learn to trust in him, we can focus on what really matters: bringing heaven to earth through the way we live our lives. We can reflect his glory in everything we think, say, and do. We can focus on what can go right rather than what is going wrong. We should not run away from our problems, but we also should not let them control us.
