This is how you should think among yourselves—with the mind that you have because you belong to the Messiah, Jesus.—Philippians 2:5
Brainy Tip: Love incorporates a specific way of thinking that each of us has at the core of who we are, a type of thinking that is part of a bigger picture: the reflection of God’s love through humanity on earth.
When we begin to recognize how powerful our unique choices are, how powerful the “mind [we] have because [we] belong to the Messiah” is, we can begin to tap into this power, not only for us but also for the world around us.
When we follow the example of love we see in Jesus, we truly begin to understand the responsibility we have to act in our divine, wired-for-love state. We each have a role to play that no one else can play, and if we don’t operate in our particular “love zone,” the whole world is impacted. Each of us is a piece in the puzzle that is life!
It is no wonder that the apostle Paul constantly tells us to follow the example of love we see in the Messiah. It’s also time for us to start realizing our role in humanity and step up to the plate. It’s not about “me, myself, and I.” It’s about me in the world.
Think of Paul’s life. How did he think, act, and speak in love? How did he use his incredible mind to change the world? What does love look like in your life? How can you step into your wired-for-love design?
