O that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your prosperity would have been like a river, and your success like the waves of the sea.—Isaiah 48:18
Brainy Tip: When we self-reflect, we activate the physical brain to function at a higher intellectual level.
Your state of mind is a real, physical, electromagnetic, quantum, and chemical flow in the brain that switches groups of genes on or off in a positive or negative direction based on your choices and subsequent reactions. Scientifically, this is called epigenetics; spiritually, this is known as free will. The brain responds to your mind by sending neurological signals throughout your body, which means that your thoughts and emotions are transformed into physiological and spiritual effects, and then physiological experiences transform into mental and emotional states.
Although you may recognize what I am saying from previous days, the science bears repeating. The way the mind works is an incredible gift from an incredible God, and when you begin to understand and realize what a gift this is, you truly begin to understand what “prosperity” looks like in your own life when you follow the love of God. I found in my clinical practice that awareness was the key to my patients taking ownership of their lives. It’s a profound and eye-opening thought to realize something as seemingly immaterial as a belief can take on a physical existence as a positive or negative change in our cells.
