The thief only comes to steal, and kill, and destroy. I came so that they could have life—yes, and have it full to overflowing.—John 10:10
Brainy Tip: Lies have no power unless we give them power.
It is with our minds that we reject or believe the lies of the satan. Lies are not realities; lies are probabilities of what can be. It is with our minds that we turn these probabilities into physical realities as a thought network made of proteins in our brains, a network that affects what we say and do and how we perceive the world.
When we choose to listen to the lies of the satan, we give them substance and energy. We literally create sin inside our heads because we have turned a nothing (the lie) into a something! This is a sobering reality, because we often ask ourselves where evil comes from. If we believe that Jesus conquered sin and death and evil, then this evil no longer has power. So why is there still human evil? We, as human beings made in the image of God, abuse our ability to choose and create evil realities in our heads instead of love-based realities that reflect the glory of our Creator.
