For wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.—Proverbs 2:10
Brainy Tip: Controlling your thought life will help you maintain your peace and joy.
When we take our thoughts captive and discipline our thinking, positive physical brain changes occur. These changes allow us to embrace our wired-for-love design, helping us truly live out the kind of life God wants us to live. Consciously controlling our thought life means that we do not allow thoughts to run rampant through our minds. Instead, we learn to engage interactively with each thought, taking control over and learning to enjoy the moment we are in. Essentially, our job is to analyze a thought before we decide either to accept or reject it.
We are better able to love ourselves as we recognize our powerful ability to think and choose, we are better able to love others as we recognize the same incredible power in them, and we are better able to love the world as we understand how we have the ability to change it for the better.
