The aim of this is for you all to be like-minded, sympathetic and loving to one another, tender-hearted and humble.—1 Peter 3:8
Brainy Tip: The Holy Spirit can help us love each other.
But you don’t know how hard it is to love that person! You do not know what they have done to me! If you find yourself thinking that, I understand. People can be difficult. Without God’s wisdom and guidance, we are all left to love and understand the people in our lives from the reservoir of our own kindness and compassion. And for most of us, that well will never be deep enough. We can’t love others the way God’s called us to through our own strength and willpower—we need the strength, mercy, and love of the Holy Spirit to guide our thoughts and lead us.
Practice reaching out and loving people who are not always easy to love. Think of how amazing and how focused you feel when you make the effort to truly reach out to someone and try to understand that difficult person. The insights you gain into yourself may surprise you!
