Rather, celebrate! You are sharing the sufferings of the Messiah. Then, when his glory is revealed, you will celebrate with real, exuberant joy.—1 Peter 4:13
Brainy Tip: Enjoying the journey enables you to truly enjoy the destination.
Choose to be happy, pushing through a challenge and enjoying the process of developing your understanding and abilities. If you fail, pick yourself up, even if you don’t feel like it! Despite how you initially feel, choosing to be happy will become the energy source that keeps you going. Think of having your own personal happiness meter—check it as often as you need to. If it’s dropping, stop, breathe, and ask yourself why. Then choose to overcome whatever you are facing—choose to change it.
Don’t allow yourself to think I will be so happy when this is over. Learn to enjoy the start, the middle, and the end! Of course, it’s okay to experience different emotions moving toward peaceful acceptance—if you are happy all the time, you do not grow in understanding. Our struggles have a way of teaching us to be truly happy in the long run by showing us what true happiness is.
