The weapons we use for the fight, you see, are not merely human; they carry a power from God that can tear down fortresses! We tear down clever arguments and every proud notion that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.—2 Corinthians 10:4–5
Brainy Tip: You control the thoughts that control your words.
The five senses are the connection between the external world and the internal world of your mind. They are the bridge between the body and your inner life, your consciousness. Information is fed into your mind constantly from your senses, shaping your thought life. In turn, the words you speak feed back into the mind, reinforcing the memory they came from. This cycle of thought can be controlled—you can choose what you want in your head, and you can choose the kind of words that come out of your mouth.
When we make negative statements, we release negative chemicals. These lead to negative memories that grow stronger and become negative strongholds that control our attitudes and lives.
What kinds of strongholds have you faced or are you facing? How did they take root in your mind? What influence do they have over your life?
