But if we hope for what we don’t see, we wait for it eagerly—but also patiently.—Romans 8:25
Brainy Tip: Some thinking patterns take longer to change than others.
At the end of sixty-three days, you can integrate a new healthy thought into your lifestyle, into your repertoire of reactions to life. It can take anywhere from three to four twenty-one-day cycles to automatize this new healthy thought pattern and to make sure the toxic thought doesn’t grow back. This process also depends on the individual, the thought pattern you are detoxing, and the healthy replacement pattern you are building. For some thoughts it might take only one twenty-one-day cycle, and for other, more toxic thought patterns, it will take more.
Be patient with yourself. Don’t expect to change your mind overnight—this is impossible. Persistence is the key to successfully renewing the mind, so keep on keeping on!
