Happy are those who find wisdom, and those who get understanding, for her income is better than silver, and her revenue better than gold. She is more precious than jewels, and nothing you desire can compare with her. Long life is in her right hand; in her left hand are riches and honor. Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace. She is a tree of life to those who lay hold of her; those who hold her fast are called happy.—Proverbs 3:13–18
Brainy Tip: No matter where we are in our lives, we can develop our wisdom and use our minds to change the way we think, thereby changing the way we live.
When you adopt a lifestyle of intense mental focus, you quite literally “switch on” neuroplasticity, the marvelous ability of the brain to grow branches and unending scaffolds of networks to increase your wisdom. Strategic approaches to thinking will create new neural pathways and strengthen existing ones for as long as you live!
Indeed, it does not matter how sick or mentally challenged we may feel, we still have the ability to choose our thoughts and feelings and determine the direction of our lives. God has equipped each of us with all the genetic material and epigenetic ability we need to deal optimally with the challenges that come our way.
