ABOUT THE EDITOR
Paula Guran is an editor and reviewer. This is the fifty-fourth anthology she has edited. In 2022, her forty-ninth anthology— The Year’s Best Dark Fantasy and Horror, Volume Two—was nominated for a World Fantasy Award. She’s also edited scores of novels and some collections. Guran has been reviewing for Locus: The Magazine of the Science Fiction & Fantasy Field on a regular basis for more than seven years.
In the last twenty-five years or so, Guran has done a great many things involved with publishing and genre fiction. Some of them include producing the weekly email newsletter DarkEcho (winning two Stokers, an IHG Award, and a World Fantasy Award nomination), editing magazine Horror Garage (earning another IHG Award and a second World Fantasy nomination), and contributing reviews, interviews, and articles to numerous professional publications.
After more than a dozen years of full-time editing, she is—not by choice, mind you—now freelancing.
Guran would be happy to tell you more than you want to know about her five fabulous grandchildren.
She lives in Akron, Ohio, with her faithful cat Nala.
