“Hey!” he says, and jumps down.
We can’t run for the school because he’s blocking our way, so I grab on to Tana. I never noticed this before but Gordy Morgan has a fat chin.
“Tell anyone and I’ll kill you,” he says. Then he runs off to the blue doors. He throws the doors open so hard, one of them almost hits this older girl in the head! I don’t know who she is, I think maybe Alicia’s big sister, I think she’s an eighth grader.
“Watch it!” she yells. Right at Gordy Morgan.
“See, he’s just a little kid bully,” Tana says, but I bet Gordy comes back out and punches that girl. Some other kids from Riverside are watching too, waiting for Gordy to come out and punch Alicia’s sister, but he doesn’t come back out, so now we’re all watching Alicia’s sister. Just digging around inside her purse. Just getting out her lip gloss and smearing it on her lips. Just smacking her lips together. Now she’s flipping her hair all around like she’s in a shampoo commercial.
I don’t tell anyone about Gordy coming over. I don’t even say his name. It’s like I’m afraid Gordy Morgan will hear me and climb through our window and shoot us in our hearts.
