MORE ON TODAY’S top story, the apprehension of the serial killer Joseph Reece.
New reports coming in from witnesses who were at the scene suggest that Reece, dubbed the ‘Lone Wolf Judge,’ was in fact killed on the scene during a shoot-out with officers of the Justice department. It’s not yet clear whether Reece was shot resisting arrest, or whether the Judge was exercising their controversial right to execute felons at the point of arrest. We’ve reached out to the Justice Department, which has so far refused to comment.
Perhaps surprisingly, Governor Walter Adams is also yet to issue a statement regarding the matter. Many expect Adams to speak out against the shooting, arguing that any ‘on the spot’ execution represents a failure of due process, but so far he has not responded to calls. His aide said that: “Governor Adams is taking a much needed rest and will return to public duties shortly.”
Whilst Adams’s detractors claim that he is hiding in the wake of the protests carried out in his name, his supporters continue to rally under the ‘anti-Judge’ banner, despite the storm that is now ravaging the city.
It doesn’t appear as if the storm, or the controversy, are going to blow over any time soon…
