The browser built into the Droid 2 is good, but you may prefer a different one. The Droid 2’s open approach means that you can download other browsers and use them instead of the Droid 2’s built-in browser, or in addition to it.
There are a number of free alternative browsers you can download. Search the Android Market for them, or search for them on the Web. Opera (http://www.opera.com/mobile/) and Dolphin (http://browser.mgeek.mobi/) both work well. The popular Firefox browser has released a test version for Android phones, but as of this writing it’s still a bit buggy. However, by the time you read this, it might be finished and ready to go. Head to www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/ in your Droid 2 browser for details.
Why use an alternative browser? They add features that the Droid 2’s built-in one doesn’t have. Firefox, for example, will sync your Droid 2 bookmarks with the bookmarks on your PC or Mac. Opera is faster than the browser built into the Droid 2, because it compresses graphics before downloading them to your Droid 2, and has other extras, such as syncing bookmarks with your PC and Mac. And Dolphin uses tabs so that you can easily jump back and forth between multiple websites.
