End of Sixth Grade
She got them at age ten.
Now they were twelve.
“That was your last test,” she said.
“Don’t we have a cumulative?” one asked.
She explained they’d do games and puzzles instead.
They murmured in unabashed enthusiasm to each other.
She hoped they’d stay this sweet when they turned teen.
