Serves 4
1 lb. ground beef
8-oz. pkg. American cheese slices
1 c. celery, chopped
2-1/4 oz. can sliced black olives, drained
2 c. fine egg noodles, uncooked
14-1/2 oz. can stewed tomatoes
1/2 c. water
Brown beef in a large skillet over medium heat; drain and return to skillet. Layer remaining ingredients except water over beef in order given. Pour water over all. Cover; simmer for 30 minutes, or until noodles are tender.
A range of cooking times is often given on packages of pasta. The first cooking time is for al dente (firm to the bite) and the second cooking time is for a softer pasta. You choose!
