Note: Afghan is made using two strands of yarn held together as one throughout.
Row 1: Ch 85, dc in 4th ch from hook, *sk next ch; for V-st, (dc, ch 1, dc) in next ch; sk next ch, dc in next ch; rep from * across to last ch, dc in last ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, *dc in next st, fpdc (see Stitch Guide) around next st, dc in next ch-1 sp, fpdc around next st; rep from * across to last 2 sts, dc in last 2 sts, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next st, *sk next st, V-st in next st, sk next st, dc in next st; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st, turn.
Rows 4–62: Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately, ending with row 2. At end of last row, fasten off.
For each Fringe, cut four strands of yarn, each 16 inches long. Holding all strands together as one, fold in half, insert hook in st, pull fold through st, pull ends through fold, pull tight.
Fringe in first st on row 62, [sk next st, fringe in next st] across.
Fringe in first ch of starting ch on opposite side of row 1, [sk next ch, fringe in next ch] across.
Trim ends of all Fringe even.
