...And The Mother Goddess Cybele gathered her children, saying:

“Is it good for a dragon to bicker with doves? Or a phoenix to burn a beaver impoundment?”

The Mother turned with her children, and they beheld man in his lands.

“Behold my greatest creation. If a dragon is scorned for quarreling with a dove, and a centaur scorned for quarreling with a beaver, then what of gods and man?”

The gods were full of pride because of their power, and from that pride, an agreement was forged, and The Balance was made.

And these words The Mother spoke: “No child of mine shall impede man in his cities or his lands. Those of my children who impede my greatest creation shall suffer my wrath.”

And the gods who agreed to The Balance were these:

Nurtia, Shapeless goddess of Fate, Death, and Time.

Tarhunna, Bull god of Earth and storms.

Rhea, Woman goddess of Fortune and The Harvest.

Urartu, Leopard god of War and Passions.

Henceforth, gods no longer quarreled with man, and man flourished throughout his lands....
