Innocent enough. Six wild geese did fly by. But what are these six wild geese? They are the senses—if we include mind perception as the sixth sense, as Buddhists do.
The sense worlds fly by, and they are wholly insubstantial. They leave no track on the cloudless sky of awareness—until discursive thought arises to structure sense impressions into imaginary worlds and invest them with ultimate reality. Then things appear a bit cloudy. Then we get tangled in our own web.
But the senses themselves are wild and marvelous. Let them fly by freely in a cloudless sky.
