9.4    Summary

In this chapter, we started with a discussion of the importance of a data retention strategy that includes all available tools. Then, we presented the data temperature concept for managing data with different access requirements and access frequencies. Finally, we reviewed in depth how to configure the data archiving process using SAP’s NLS on SAP IQ or Hadoop for cold data storage. In the next chapter, we’ll cover administration and monitoring of routine tasks within your SAP BW/4HANA system to keep it performing at an optimal level.
