12.8    Summary

SAP BW/4HANA is a new product entirely developed for the SAP HANA in-memory database. It preserves the core functionality of SAP BW while drastically reducing the number of data objects and amount of related maintenance. SAP BW/4HANA follows a roadmap independent from the anyDB or powered by SAP HANA versions of SAP BW. In fact, SAP has indicated that it will be focusing on developing new features for SAP BW/4HANA going forward, while moving other SAP BW applications into support mode. This chapter described the innovations currently available with the launch of SAP BW/4HANA and those planned next in its roadmap.
