2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
3 cups chicken broth
2 cups water
1 can (14 ounces) whole tomatoes, chopped
1 pound cooked chicken breast, shredded into large pieces
1/2 pound green beans, cut into 1" pieces
1/4 head small cabbage, coarsely chopped
3/4 cup shell pasta
2 teaspoons chopped fresh sage or 1 teaspoon dried
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1. Heat the oil in a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and poultry seasoning and cook for 5 minutes. Add the broth, water, and tomatoes and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5 minutes.
2. Stir in the chicken, beans, cabbage, pasta, sage, pepper, and salt. Simmer, covered, for 8 minutes, or until the vegetables and pasta are tender.
