What If Nothing’s Wrong?

What if life is just the way it is because that is the only way it can be? What if, contrary to the narratives of brand-name religions, you are not subject to cosmic Ignorance, Exile, Original Sin, Endless Desire, or Pride? Not that you aren’t sometimes ignorant, alienated, sinful, addicted, or proud, but that sometimes being ignorant, alienated, sinful, addicted, or proud has no cosmic significance and does not demand allegiance to any specific religion. If there’s nothing wrong, religion as human meaning making won’t disappear, but religion as Munchausen syndrome might.

We outgrow our Gods when we outgrow the dis-eases they promise to cure. If you want a better God, invent a better dis-ease.
