This spell involves sitting with your intentions and desires. It is quick to perform and doesn’t require many ingredients, making it an excellent spell for beginners.

Start by casting a circle, grounding and centering, and cleansing your altar space and the tools. Next, on the bay leaf write a word or sentence describing what you wish to manifest. Light the candle and burn the bay leaf and drop it into the cauldron. Sit in meditation and visualize your wish manifesting. When you’ve finished, open the circle.

Ocean wishing spell

We know how soothing watching waves can be and in this spell the sea will take on symbolic resonance, the waves carrying away a wish to be granted.

On the evening of a Full Moon, when the moon has already risen, go to the beach or nearby body of water and take a walk, or sit in the sand or on the ground. Your feet should be bare, to feel the earth beneath you and connect to nature. When you’re in a calm, happy state, start your spell by taking the stick and moving to where the water meets the land. In the sand or earth, write your wish, focusing on your intention. Stand facing the water, and watch it lap over your wish in the sand or earth. Speak the words:

Mighty water, you have given us life, may you grant this wish I have. In return I offer you [your offering], to show my thanks and appreciation. So mote it be.

Throw your offering into the water and watch it get carried away—the offering could be as simple as some flowers you grew, or a beautifully carved piece of wood. At this point, sit down and raise your energy, and try to feel the energy of the body of water in front of you. Visualize yourself with your wish already fulfilled, all the joy you will feel, and the things you plan on doing. Thank the water before leaving.
