TOOLS Incense | Small pouch, locket, or bottle on a chain
INGREDIENTS Taglock (a small item that reminds you of your pet—such as fur, a picture, and so on)
When a beloved pet passes away, this talisman is a way of connecting to them in spirit, keeping their energy close by, and asking their spirit to assist and protect you from beyond the veil.
Start by casting a circle and grounding and centering, and cleansing your altar space and the tools. Light the incense and say the words:
My beloved pet, I invite you here today to join me in making a blessed talisman to keep with me. Please add your essence to this memorabilia, may it keep you close to my heart. May you protect and guide me and offer comfort as you always have. So mote it be.
Now take your pouch, locket, or bottle, carefully add the taglock, and close the container. Hold it in both hands and visualize your beloved pet by your side while you bless and consecrate this talisman. Then give your thanks, kiss the talisman, and open the circle.
BEST TIME Dusk, New Moon
TOOLS Paper | Pen
It’s just as important to protect and bless your pet’s space as it is your own.
Sit by the space that you wish to bless, and ground and center. Focus on the energies of blessing and protecting. Take the piece of paper and pen, and write your protective sigil and the name of your pet/s. Hold your hands over the paper, raise your personal energy, and visualize the sigil in your mind dissolving, activating it. Say the words:
Blessed and protected be my pet/s, may this space be a place of safety and comfort, so mote it be.
Hide the paper near your pet’s space, somewhere safe so they do not try to eat it.
BEST TIME Monday, Saturday, Sunday, New Moon, Full Moon
