Marci Alboher is a Vice President at Civic Ventures, a nonprofit think tank on boomers, work and social purpose.

    Before joining Civic Ventures, she spent a decade as an independent journalist/author/educator focused on the new landscape of work. She created the Shifting Careers column and blog for the New York Times, and the blog, Working the New Economy for Yahoo! Her writing has appeared in scores of print and online publications. She has also taught freelance journalism and worked as a private writing coach to other writers. Prior to her journalism career, she practiced law for nine years.

    Marci’s commentary on career issues and workplace trends has been featured on NBC’s Today Show, The International Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio and other major news outlets around the world. She is on the advisory boards of The OpEd Project, an initiative to expand the diversity of voices in public conversations and SheWrites.com, an online community for women writers.
