––––––––
EDEN SHOULD HAVE BEEN exhausted from her fight with the fledglings and her brush with death. Her natural healing abilities and the blood transfusion had given her an energy boost. Being with Sebastian also seemed to feed her energy, or maybe it was just adrenalin that was making her feel so alert.
Pushing the master vampire over onto his back, Eden pressed soft kisses down his chest. Her hands roamed over his torso and arms. She slowly worked her way down to his navel and circled the hollow with her tongue. He dragged a couple of pillows over and put them behind his back. He propped himself up so he could watch what she was doing to him. His gorgeous face was intent and his jaw was already clenched in anticipation.
Kissing her way down the faint line of hair to his groin, the succubus teased Sebastian by circling around his pelvis. She caressed his powerful thighs and her long hair tickled him as she spread his legs open. Taking her time, she drew closer and closer to his erection. Flicking a glance at his face, she finally took him into her mouth.
Sebastian closed his eyes and said something in his native language as she drew her head up and down. One fist worked up and down his shaft and the other continued to caress his body. He tensed when she cupped his balls and muttered a foreign expletive when she gently fondled him. Eden had pleasured the Immortal Triumvirate like this countless times, but this was the first time she’d ever found any pleasure in the act.
The vampire’s hands reached towards the bedhead and grasped hold of it. He moaned and arched his back when she picked up her pace. His hips thrust upwards, but she held him down and continued to torture him with her mouth. Wood snapped when he reached his peak. She was swamped in his vampiric charisma as he murmured endearments to her.
Sebastian couldn’t remember the last time he’d felt so sexually satisfied. Eden’s masters had told her she was defective, but he knew she was anything but broken. Her succubus magic swirled around him teasingly, caressing him with unseen fingers. He pulled her down so she was lying next to him. “I am gladder than I can express that you will be my mate, mon amour,” he told her and kissed her temple.
“What language is that?” she asked.
“I am French, chérie.”
“I’ve read about France,” she said wistfully. “I wish I could see it one day.”
“It is a beautiful country,” he said. “I will take you there, once we’ve fulfilled our goals.”
“We can’t leave Nox,” she reminded him, tracing a circle around his nipple with her fingernail.
“Oui, I forgot,” he said, tensing slightly and hoping she didn’t notice. The one thing he hadn’t told Eden was that Nox would most likely cease to exist once the Immortal Triumvirate had been vanquished. That was a secret he, Kade Sinclair and Raum were keeping to themselves. Not all of their allies would want the City of Night to be destroyed. Some wanted to gain more power and standing. They would turn on them if they learned the truth and they would defect to the other side. For now, it was best to say nothing about what the eventual outcome of their war would be.
For the remainder of the night, the assassin and rebel explored each other’s bodies. They learned each other’s likes and dislikes so they could bring each other the greatest amount of pleasure. They were both pleasantly weary by the time the sun appeared on the horizon.
Eden fell asleep with her leg draped over Sebastian’s thigh and his arm holding her close to his side. Sebastian remained awake for a while, worrying about their plan and knowing it could fail. If they lost, they would all be wiped out by the Immortal Triumvirate. He barely knew Eden, yet he felt keen sorrow at the thought of losing her. Somehow, their magic had bound them together. It was as if their subconsciouses had decided they should become mated as soon as they’d met.
It was a relief that he’d found his match, but she couldn’t become bonded to him until the spell that linked her to the Immortal Triumvirate had first been broken. It was going to take skill and powerful magic. He would need to consult with Kade to find a solution to this problem.
He eventually fell into a deep slumber and didn’t rouse until he sensed the sun receding from the sky. Eden was already awake. She lay beside him, running her hand up and down his torso. His body responded to her touch and she gave him a wicked smile. “You’re finally awake,” she said as her hand closed around his shaft.
“I must confess, this is a most pleasant way to awaken, chérie,” he said huskily. Her fist stroked him slowly and he closed his eyes in enjoyment. No matter how many times her body encased him, he didn’t think he could ever get enough of her.
Eden straddled Sebastian and guided him into her, then rode him slowly and sensually. With her black hair a tumbled mess and her dark brown eyes locked on his, she’d never been more beautiful. He ran his hands from her hips up to her breasts and she arched against him. He teased her nipples and she increased her speed. Her warmth encased him, making him even harder as she slid up and down in a fast rhythm. A blush rose on her chest and spread up to her face as her climax drew closer and closer. Then she was constricting around him, making noises of pleasure that threw him over the edge.
He rolled over so he was on top and plunged into her as she held him tightly. He drove himself into the succubus until he reached his peak, then collapsed half on top of her.
“I could get used to this,” Eden said, stroking her hand up and down his back.
“So could I,” he agreed with a grin. “Waking up next to you each night would be a pleasure.”
Eden smirked back at him, then slapped him lightly on the backside. “We should get moving,” she suggested. “I have a feeling it’s going to be a long night.” She didn’t tell him about the sickening pain in her head that was increasing by the hour. The spell was silently screaming at her to kill him as she’d been ordered. It was so insistent that she wasn’t sure how much longer she could stand it.
“Oui,” he said, sobering as they slid off the bed. “I will need to contact my ally and consult with him about your link to the Immortal Triumvirate.”
Eden’s expression became grim. “I hope he can sever it soon. Lord Kreaton will know you’re still alive. He could summon me to him to explain why I haven’t killed you yet at any moment.”
That thought was enough to motivate them both. Sebastian chose clothing from his closet while Eden headed downstairs to don her light blue outfit that had been tossed onto the armchair. The blanket and gown had vanished. They’d probably been sent back to the hospital.
“I need to send a letter,” Sebastian said when he joined Eden in the living room. A piece of paper and quill appeared in front of him. “I am requesting a meeting with Kade Sinclair in one hour at the asylum in the Night Cursed District,” he said. The words appeared on the note in black ink, then an envelope appeared around it. The letter zoomed towards the door and squirmed its way through a crack.
“I’m starving,” Eden said when her stomach rumbled. “Do you have anything to eat?” Sebastian turned and gave her a wicked, suggestive smile. “I’m talking about food, pervert,” she said wryly.
“Your wish is my command, mon amour,” he said silkily, then pointed at the coffee table where a platter of meat, cheese and other items suddenly appeared as the magic of Nox responded to her need. The food was French and it was as delicious as it looked.
