About the Author

Outdoor journalist and author Dan Bailey has a passion for the world’s wild steep places. When he’s not out researching guidebooks he photographs and writes about mountain sports for travel and outdoor magazines, Sunday newspapers and online media. He has hiked, climbed and occasionally hobbled in mountains across five continents, although he still maintains that the hills of home are tops. Dan and his wonderful wife live on the Fife Riviera, within easy reach of rocks, water and the superb Scottish Highlands.

Dan Bailey is also the author of Scotland’s Mountain Ridges (Cicerone) and West Highland Way (Pocket Mountains).
