Chapter 8

The Simple Belief Realignment Method

In the preceding chapter, we learnt how to identify our negative beliefs, giving us an opportunity to shift our vibration and realign with healthier, happier, more supportive beliefs. This positively impacts our emotions, behavioural choices, and lives in general. We have taught our body how to muscle-test, and are aware of what our “yes” and “no” look like. We practised the Wuji standing posture, grounding us and setting us up as an empty vessel between heaven and earth, ready for energy realignment. We have also learnt the infinity harmonizing movement which brings balance and harmony to our energy body and, thereafter, our physical body.

Now it is time to learn the simple belief realignment method. There are seven main steps to the protocol, which are as follows:

  1. Permission Statements
  2. Which Hemisphere to Activate First
  3. The Movement
  4. Left and Right Brain Activation & Congruence
  5. Belief Embodiment Visualization
  6. Grounding It and Planting the New Belief
  7. Test It.

An easy-to-follow table at the end of this chapter recaps the steps once you have learnt the protocol.

STEP 1: Permission Statements

This step is really about getting every part of you on board with making this shift; that is, getting the conscious self, including the protective ego, working together with your higher self and your subconscious mind.

Once you have acknowledged that your whole self is ready to make this belief change, you will use the muscle test that you learnt earlier to check that what you are about to change is indeed for your highest and best good.

NOTE: If it is not for your highest good that the belief statement you have selected changes, it means that either you need a little more conscious awareness about your resistance or it is not the right time or the right belief to do the protocol. Perhaps you need to change your belief statement from, for example, “I am worthy of a loving relationship” to “It is safe for me to have a loving relationship”.

Issues involving fear and safety can play a large part in keeping us stuck, so you may need to rethink your belief statement to support your fears around change and letting go of beliefs that limit but protect you. The Advanced Method and Healing InSight belief pages can help you navigate through this resistance, and you will learn more about this in the next chapter.

There are four parts to follow in this step.

Test Your Beliefs

Muscle-test your unhelpful belief (the limiting belief you would like to change), then your new affirming desired belief. Hold the intention here that the negative belief will fall away as you align with the positive. We test the unhelpful belief and then the desired belief so that the mind-body-spirit knows what we intend to do.

For example, if I want to align with the belief that I am worthy of love, I first make the opposite statement, “I am unworthy of love”, and muscle-test my subconscious mind to discover the absence or presence of this belief. The answer will reveal whether or not I currently believe this statement to be true. I also then make the statement “I am worthy of love”, then test whether or not I currently believe this to be true.

We will also test the two beliefs after the process is complete for confirmation of the realignment and to also ensure that the negative belief has fallen away. We are anticipating here that you will have a “yes” muscle-test response to the unhelpful belief and a “no” to the desired belief. Remember: This does not mean that it is true but that the subconscious mind believes it to be true.

Should you believe both the positive and negative statements to be true, your mental program has both running and you can go ahead and align with the desired belief, knowing that this process is about clearing away the unhelpful belief and its associated vibration.

Permission for Highest and Best Good

STATE: “It is for my highest and best good to align with this belief now”, then muscle-test. If the test result is “yes”, continue to the next step.

Permission to Align on All Levels

STATE: “I give my full permission to align on all levels with this belief now”, then muscle-test.

NOTE: We include the words “on all levels” to allow the inclusion of beliefs from our lifetime, our ancestors, and from the soul level.

If you get “no” to either of your permission statements, explore why. Is there any reason to hold onto this belief? For example, are there hidden gains? This is often something that just needs to be brought into consciousness. Once you are aware of it, muscle-test for permission again. If you get a repeat “no”, rethink your belief statement.

Discover Which Method to Use

STATE: “It is for my highest and best good to use the Simple Method”, then muscle-test. If “yes”, continue the steps here to align using the Simple Method. If “no”, state, “It is for my highest and best good to use the Advanced Method” and test. If you then get a “yes”, skip forward to use the Advanced Method, which is laid out in the next chapter. If this is required at your first attempt at the process, familiarize yourself with the Simple Method first, anyway, as it is used in the Advanced Method. We are going to look at the Simple Method now.

If tests indicate that you are not ready to align with a desired belief, several things may be at play. It’s important to explore these, as resistance to change is usually the result of certain ideas or beliefs, frequently concerning issues of safety. I recommend the following steps:

  • Become aware of any reason you may not wish to align.
  • Ask: What would the consequence of believing this be? Are there any other negative beliefs there that need shifting first?
  • You might need to change the language of the belief by adding: “It is safe for me to...” or “I am able to... ”

STEP 2: Which Hemisphere to Activate First

In the following procedure, we are going to activate each hemisphere of the brain in relation to our desired belief. I have found that it is easier to muscle-test which hemisphere we need to activate first as there is often more resistance to the belief in one hemisphere than the other. Ask and see what your energy system requires to make the process easier.

Muscle-Test Which Hemisphere to Activate First

STATE: “I need to activate the left hemisphere first”, and muscle-test. If “yes”, remember that you will need to perform the movements in step 4 with your left side first, and then your right side. If “no”, remember that you will need to perform the movements in step 4 with your right side first, and then your left side.

STEP 3: The Movement

We will use the infinity harmonizing movement throughout the entire realignment process. Practise it to develop the muscle memory, and you won’t have to think about the movement after a short while.

Stand in Wuji Posture

Align your body using the Wuji posture. Feet apart, knees soft and open, hips neutral, shoulders relaxed, breath relaxed, you are coming into being an empty vessel between the energies of heaven and earth so that these can flow through you to assist in your energy realignment. Be sure to plant your feet on the floor/earth and rise through your spine to the crown of the head and beyond. For more information, review the previous chapter of the book.

The Infinity Harmonizing Movement

Perform the infinity harmonizing movement over the lower dan tian (the area just below the navel). This is the sidewards figure of eight with palms turning at each end to face the heavens or the earth. (See description and my website for video links, if help is needed with the movement.)

STEP 4: Left and Right Brain Activation and Congruence

This process will activate the hemispheres of the brain in relation to the new belief you are repeating. For some people, the activation is obvious; for others, it is more subtle. It is often experienced as tingling, heat, heaviness, or lightness in the hemisphere you are working on; sometimes, it is accompanied by clarity. You will focus on one hand, and maintain an awareness of sensation in that hemisphere, too. Very occasionally, the other hemisphere will activate first. This is fine, but continue with the process, repeating your statement until the intended hemisphere activates. We then repeat this process, focusing on the other hand and hemisphere until the second hemisphere is activated. Both hemispheres will need to activate in order to achieve whole brain coherence in relation to your new belief.

Activate the First Hemisphere

Bring your awareness and attention to the energy in your left hand (or whichever hand should be first, as discovered in step 2). Perform the movement, and repeat your belief, until the same (left or right) hemisphere of the brain feels activated.

Activate the Second Hemisphere

Bring your awareness and attention to the energy in your right hand (or whichever hand is not first). Perform the movement, and repeat your belief, until the same (left or right) hemisphere of the brain feels activated.

Whole-Brain and Whole-Body Awareness

Hold both hemispheres of the brain in whole-body awareness, simply as an observer, softening, continuing to repeat the belief, as you witness the sensation of release and/or belief alignment. Wait until you are sure that the hemisphere has activated.

STEP 5: Belief Embodiment Visualization

Once you are aware of the hemispheric activation and alignment, you can then use mental imagery to connect with this belief. Visualizing in this way will help you to develop a resonance with the new belief. In this process, we are allowing and observing, rather than creating intentionally with our minds.

Of course, our minds do create, but let the vision come to you, and as you do this, allow the feeling to expand and be felt in your body. The more you practise this, the more your intuition will work with and speak to you, showing you what the belief means for you, going forward. You may see a useful vision that you wish to remember to help attune you to this new vibration when desired.

Bring Your Hands Towards Your Body

When the hemispheres are activated and the belief alignment feels congruent, bring the hands towards the body, wherever they wish to land (the heart and the gut may be helpful and feel supportive), and close your eyes.

Visualize and Feel the Vibration of the New Belief

Take as long as you need, or what you sense to be just over a minute (the magic law of attraction timeframe is 68 seconds) to connect with what your belief now feels like in your body. Allow a vision to come to mind that represents you with this new belief and its associated possibilities in your life.

Belief Embodiment Visualization

Let your imagination run with it! This process gives you an opportunity to start to resonate with a new vibration, so if it is heading that way, make it as big, bright, and shiny as you can. Your mental imagery may evolve as the energy moves and changes. Stay with it, and be curious, accepting, and observing. It is the perfect place for your higher awareness to communicate with you. It is true that if you can imagine it, it is possible; so take your time to work with the law of attraction, basking and resonating in the vibration you would like to experience more of in your life. Give yourself permission to be brilliant and magnificent, safe and loved, free and connected, and whole.

If you find this process tricky, simply follow whatever thought, picture, or feeling comes into your awareness, and you will find that this should resonate well with the new belief. If it does not feel good, then try going back to repeating the belief and activating the hemispheres more fully. In my experience, when we align with a positive belief we can access that good feeling. If you still can’t connect to a good feeling, observe what you are being shown; you may be steered towards a “yes, but. . .”, showing that there is another belief that needs to be cleared. Follow your intuition and just make note of your observations for now. You may need to go on to do the manifestation process, which will then enable a full resonance.

Follow the steps, and if need be, you can come back to the “yes, but” once this process is complete. You are wise and you do know what you need, just listen and honour your own process.

STEP 6: Grounding and Planting the New Belief

Once you have the new vibration, ground it. Plant the belief underneath your feet (into the Earth Star Portal chakra) as if you were planting a seed ready to blossom and grow. You will get a sense of energy “landing” and sinking to the earth. Your feet and perhaps legs will start to feel connected to the earth, feeling more solid, ready to step forward into the rest of your day. Without doing this we can be left feeling a little top-heavy and unbalanced, so take your time completing this important step.

Send the Belief to the Earth

Place your hands at the sides of your hips, palms facing the earth, soften your knees and send the belief (plus any excess energy) down the legs, planting it into the earth beneath your feet.

Remain Until the Belief and Energy Are Grounded

Remain until you sense that the belief has landed and you feel grounded, ready to get on with your day.

Grounding and Planting

NOTE: At any time during the procedure, if you feel discomfort or excess uncomfortable energy, you can stop and use the aforementioned grounding posture to settle yourself and clear excess energy before continuing. I have witnessed clients clearing quite traumatic memories, or noticing heaviness and the feeling of fear in them surface to be cleared. Trust the process and your fundamental wellbeing. Go at your own pace, taking breaks if you want to ground at any stage of the process. You do not have to “push through”; commit yourself to seeing it through, and let it be easy.

STEP 7: Test It

Confirm the Presence of Your Desired Belief

Make your desired belief statement, and muscle-test to confirm its presence.

Confirm (If Present) the Absence of the Unhelpful Belief

Make your unhelpful belief statement, and muscle-test to confirm the absence of the unhelpful belief. If both are “yes”, it is so. Well done! Allow yourself the relief and joy of a new possibility. This is the most likely outcome. In a moment we will muscle-test to confirm whether you need to do the manifestation process for this belief (found in Chapter 10). It is not always necessary—your muscle test will inform you if it needs to be done. The manifestation process allows for whole-body coherence with the new belief.

In the unlikely event that the belief has not aligned, ask whether you need to do the process again by stating: “I need to realign with this belief now”, and muscle-test. If “yes”, repeat the process.

If “no”, make the statement: “There is another belief to align with”, and muscle-test that. This may be a belief that you became aware of earlier (your “yes, but...”), or a belief from the Healing InSight belief pages (read Chapter 9 for help with this). Once you are aware of this, go ahead and work through the protocol again. Your original belief should then have aligned.

The Manifestation Process for Whole-Body Coherence

Finally, occasionally our three centres of intelligence—the head, heart, and gut—need a little help in order to integrate change. If required, the following process will allow you to establish whole-body coherence with the new belief, helping you to manifest it in your reality.

Muscle-test the statement “I need to do the manifestation process in relation to this belief ”. If “yes”, continue to Chapter 10. If “no”, this is not necessary, and your process is complete.

This is the end of this stage of the Healing InSight method. Are you finding this exciting? Belief change and energy realignment are like opening new doors, so don’t be afraid to step through them when they appear in front of you. Change is good! Joy is your natural state of being. Use the system to help you to clear your fears and limits, specific and global. Keep a note of what you have changed and, in time, you will see how this manifests in your life. It can also be helpful as a means of assessing whether any other aspects relating to this belief need addressing, such as “safe to ... possible to ... worthy of... ”.
