23: FIGHTS NAUSEA

Acute or chronic illness, pregnancy, chemotherapy, and even stress can bring on queasiness or nausea. Sometimes it can be hard to identify the true cause, which makes it even more difficult to treat. Many people consider nausea to be more unpleasant than vomiting because it tends to last longer.

CBD oil contains several cannabinoids including CBD, CBDA, THC, and THCA that can reduce nausea. Millions of cannabinoid receptors are found in the gut, which is also known as your enteric nervous system or your second brain. When you consume CBD oil, the phytocannabinoids in it activate those receptors, reducing inflammation and pain, and soothing both your gut and your brain. It’s best to make your own CBD oil gummies, as most of the ones for sale online or in stores contain chemicals like artificial coloring that can make you sick.

TO MAKE CBD OIL GINGER GUMMIES, GATHER:

Whisk lemon juice, honey, and ginger together in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Spread gelatin powder on top and whisk continually until mixture simmers. After several minutes, the mixture will thicken, and the gelatin will dissolve. Remove from heat and immediately add CBD oil. Whisk, then pour mixture into an ungreased 8" x 8" square pan. Let pan cool in the refrigerator for 25 minutes or until fully set. After cooling, cut into small squares and store in a sealed container for up to eight months at room temperature.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

To determine the dosage of CBD oil in your gummies, divide 1,500 milligrams by the total amount of gummy squares you made. Eating 20−30 milligrams of CBD gummies is a proper dosage for nausea.
