LeAnn pulled the collar to her jacket up around her neck. The sun was just setting and it was getting cold. She heard the screen door close and turned to see Matt. He was handing her a glass of wine.
“Hmm, thank you,” she said taking it from him. Matt bent and kissed the top of her head and pulled a chair closer to her.
“Dr. Lyons just called. It seems Amelia did die of a heart attack, just as we thought.” Matt took a sip of his wine.
LeAnn smiled. “Or a happy heart.”
Not understanding her comment, he looked at LeAnn questioningly, “What?”
“Look.” She smiled and pointed towards the boathouse.
The music was playing.
Matt looked toward the boathouse. He saw two lights floating on the walkway as if they were dancing.
LeAnn reached for Matt’s hand. “Dance with me,” she said in a whisper.
Matt got up and took LeAnn in his arms. They danced to the beautiful music that was Jonathan and Amelia’s song, “Your Heart Belongs To My Heart”.
Matt kissed LeAnn just as the two floating lights became one and floated up toward the stars.
Silence….the music stopped.
