LUCY ATKINS is an established journalist who regularly writes for the Guardian, Red magazine and Junior Pregnancy and Baby magazine. She has also written for a range of other publications including The Times, The Sunday Times and the Telegraph, and has been a book critic for the Guardian, the Times Literary Supplement and now The Sunday Times. Lucy has drawn on her own experiences as the inspiration for Blooming Birth – Julia Guderian was her doula with her second baby. She is a mother of three.
JULIA GUDERIAN is a childbirth educator and certified birth and post-labour doula. She founded and runs The New Hope Project, connecting volunteer doulas with women giving their babies up for adoption. She also founded a non-profit support group for women who have had caesareans (and are upset by them) and designed a network of mother’s groups that has proved very popular across the US. She is a mother of two.
