Ice and Snow

Because ice and snow are forms of water, their characteristics can also be clear, reflective and opaque.

Ice

The ice on a tree branch is clear with a dark outline made up of reflections of surrounding elements.

Icicles

The dark background offers a stark contrast to the clear/white appearance to the icicles that are also reflective.

Snow

Snow can appear opaque as in the round contours of snow along the edges of a creek.
