It would be idle to deny that the cities of San Francisco and Berkeley, the University of California, and the Graduate Theological Union (in aeternum floreant) do actually exist and possess a certain degree of similarity to their equivalents within the pages of this book. It is therefore the more necessary to reassure the reader that although the institutions do stand in brick and glass, the individuals, be they seminarians, deans, police officers, or citizens of the streets, as well as the modern international Fools movement as described herein, are but figments of the writer’s imagination.
Except perhaps one.
