Thanks to Joan Virginia Allen, whose bold vision and leadership brought our group into being; and to Shelah and Lora, my sister septuagenarians, for their courage and honesty. The four of us inspired each other as we met monthly to record how our lives were transformed so others experiencing physical limitations would know there is another choice available—one of healing the cause. What a welcome and radical choice in our culture dominated by symptom control.

Aging dynamically has been and is motivated by special people in my life, including, but not limited to, my mom and dad, Virginia and Ted, who modeled dynamic aging; my younger brother and sister, Jerry and Linda, and their spouses, Marilyn and Ken; my beautiful children, Camela, Craig, Wendy, and Jasmine; my eight awesome grandchildren, Tyler, Dashiel, Zoe, Nicholas, Cameron, Graham, Connor, and Liam; and my three savvy, sassy septuagenarian “sisters,” Joyce, Shelah, and Lora, with whom I lovingly share our individual and unique experiences of dynamic aging.

Thanks to John Eder Photography, who brought us to life. And to Joanne Krantz, whose request for written material to assist her in both her long-distance mothers’ balance assaults prompted us to create this book.

Thank you to my late husband, Estel, the best partner ever. I miss you! Also to my septuagenarian sisters, Joan, Joyce and Lora, and my chosen sisters, Pam, Tessa, and Nancy, who make my life so much richer. The sisters I always wanted! And thanks to my dear children, Celeste, Tao, Evan and Brad. Your kindness, love and patience are exemplary. So proud of each of you.
