If you are thinking about getting and tending a hive of bees (and you should be), the best place to start is your local beekeeping association, which can be located online. There, you will probably meet an expert (or several) who will likely be more than happy to advise and coach you. Also, read the magazines Bee Culture and American Bee Journal and one or two of the many practical manuals available. Be prepared to absorb quantities of information and many differing opinions. Then order your bees and begin.
